Dr. Dubin will sit down with you during the breast augmentation consultation and seek to understand your expectations for the breast augmentation procedure.  You should view our breast augmentation before and after pictures prior to coming in for a consultation to see examples and identify ones you like.   There are several more breast augmentation pictures available at the office as well.

It is important for Dr. Dubin to have a clear understanding of your goals for the breast augmentation procedure. After understanding what you hope to accomplish, Dr. Dubin can determine if the breast augmentation procedure can help meet your expectations.  Based on the condition of your breasts, skin tone, and lifestyle, he will suggest what he feels is the most appropriate procedure for you.

Be prepared to discuss the following breast augmentation topics with the doctor:

  • Breast Implant Size (bring in pictures ((either from our before and afters or magazines etc) of sizes which you like))
  • Breast Implant Type (Silicone Breast or Saline)
  • Breast Implant Incision Placement (where the breast meets the chest, the areola (the dark skin surrounding the nipple), the armpit))
  • Breast Implant Location (above or below the muscle).

Dr. Dubin will do his best to ensure that the incision is placed so scars from the breast augmentation procedure will be as inconspicuous as possible. Working through the incision, the doctor will lift your breast tissue and skin to create a pocket, either directly behind the breast tissue or underneath your chest wall muscle (the pectoral muscle). The implants are then centered beneath your nipples.

Dr. Dubin will provide a list of guidelines for preparation for breast augmentation surgery.  A mammogram may be necessary depending on your age and health history.   Make sure to follow his directions closely and call the office if you have any questions.
